This I have to say is the first I remember a Southern artist rocking with up North artist on a New York style track  (Erick Sermon)… 4,3,2,1 hit it on all angles… A Hip Hop Collabo… This series is about styles and lyrics… You know the stuff Hip Hop was made of…  Method Man/ DMX/ LL Cool J/ Master P/ Canibus/ and Redman make a special song… unique in its own right… Put these dudes in a blender and just like that… 4,3,2,1… the song is created… The styles are so different and the lyrical content come from some of the craziest minds Hip Hop has ever seen… And for the record… LL is way up there in Hip Hop supremacy… 4,3,2,1 is from LL Cool J’s seventh album Phenomenon… I did say… Way up there in Hip Hop Supremacy!!!…

4,3,2,1 was also historic for marking the beginning of the feud between LL and Canibus… This Collabo is one for the ages… So… they do a track together… and it leads to the end of a career… Canibus why’d you do it?…

Nicki Minaj is surrounded in controversy with the release of the “Only” video… The song features Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown.

Well… the video definetly got the attention of the Anti-Defamation League… According to Rolling Stone… the organization’s director, Abraham H. Foxman – a Holocaust survivor – called it “a new low for pop culture’s exploitation of Nazi symbolism.”

Foxman continued…  “It is troubling that no one among Minaj’s group of producers, publicists and managers raised a red flag about the use of such imagery before ushering the video into public release.”… “This video is insensitive to Holocaust survivors and a trivialization of the history of that era. The abuse of Nazi imagery is deeply disturbing and offensive to Jews and all those who can recall the sacrifices Americans and many others had to make as a result of Hitler’s Nazi juggernaut.”

The animated video shows a horde of soldiers all with red armbands assembling around long, red banners displaying a Young Money logo that have been compared by some to a swastika.

Minaj took to twitter… “The artist who made the video for ‘Only’ was influenced by a cartoon on Cartoon Network called Metalocalypse and [the non–Cartoon Network-affiliated movie and graphic novel] Sin City,” she wrote. “Both the producer and person in charge of overseeing the lyric video (one of my best friends and videographer: A. Loucas), happen to be Jewish. I didn’t come up with the concept, but I’m very sorry and take full responsibility if it has offended anyone. I’d never condone Nazism in my art.”

Big Bank Hank aka Imp the Dimp of The Sugar Hill Gang has passed away leaving the music world to mourn his death.  Sugar Hill in the late 70’s changed the course of Hip Hop with “Rappers Delight”.  The Hip Hop pioneer will be missed.

The night of November 11th in D.C will be memorable… The Concert For Valor… a first of its kind event.. will bring artist, celebrities and millions of Americans together to honor the courage and sacrifice of Veterans, active duty service members and their families.

The line up includes… Eminem/ Rihanna/ Jennifer Hudson/ Bruce Springsteen/ The Black Keys/ Carrie Underwood/ Dave Grohl/ Metallica/ Jessie J/ & Zac Brown Band 

My understanding is that HBO will show the concert for free even without a subscription….

The true meaning of strength is Leah Strong… We all have good days and bad days… Leah everyday is in a fight… a battle against cancer… and she is doing so with an incredible will… She made it last night to see her father play against the Cleveland Browns… The Bengals announced a $1.3 million donation to Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Leah’s name… KhariDigital wishes her all the best…

The meaning of Hip Hop collabo has changed quite a bit over the years… Once known as a treat to the Hip Hop consumer… the Hip Hop collabo has become the norm in today’s Hip Hop… Albums are littered with features… they are no longer collabo’s… Today artist need each other to sell records… You can argue that there are no solo Hip Hop artist out there anymore… I’m all good with change but there was something special about artist with different styles complimenting each other on a track… It was almost like artist battled each other on the same track… There have been great collaborations in Hip Hop over the years… and Khari Digital will break down 10 in a Hip Hop collabo series… not greatest… just 10 that had meaning to the game and still resonate throughout the Hip Hop community today… Today we feature Tribe Called Quest with the “Senario” Remix…

It just keeps getting better for Jay-Z… He can rock the mic… sell some clothes… broker deals for athletes… and sell some bubbly… His resume is impressive…

The newest item in the Jay-Z portfolio is the gilded Armand de Brignac (nicknamed “Ace of Spades”) brand of bubbly, which retails for $300 a pop but can go as high as $200,000…  A new company led by Jay Z acquired the brand from New York-based Sovereign Brands, which announced the sale this week.

“We are proud to announce that Sovereign Brands, a New York-based wine and spirits company owned by the Berish family, has sold its interest in the Armand de Brignac (‘Ace of Spades’) Champagne brand to a new company led by the globally-renowned Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter,” the company said in a statement.

The best-selling artist, label owner, entertainment mogul, sports agent and now-champagne maker is reportedly worth over $500 million, according to Forbes…
